Stainless steel sculptures are common urban sculptures. The stainless steel material is resistant to corrosion by weak corrosive media such as air, steam, and water and chemically permeable media such as acid, alkali, and salt.

 

Stainless steel sculptures should be cleaned regularly and kept in a dry environment to protect them. It is best to wear gloves when holding the sculpture by hand to prevent salt corrosion from sweat on the hands. If the dirt is too heavy, use a cold hairdryer to clean the sculpture. Then clean with a straw brush and finish with a soft bristle brush. Never use a metal polish, water, or any other solvent. That will discolor the brass. For stainless steel sculpture cracks, we can wet a cotton ball with saliva and then wipe it, along the crack from end to end, so as not to miss it. Once a year, give the brass a thin coat of microcrystalline wax, which is that colorless wax.
