Video: Changchun city Metro stations sculptures

In Changchun city, China, the subway is not only a fast and convenient transportation environment for the city. An artistic station has also become the underground art space of Changchun city. Metro Line 2, with the theme of "Pulse of the Times", focuses on the vision of Changchun's urban development. Our company has the honor to undertake the production and installation of art installations in these subway stations in 2019. The following will introduce three of our completed stainless steel art sculptures with nano spraying finish.

1. Modern Age
Starting from the design concept of spatial integration, the design of the public artwork of this station highlights the fashionable and modern era and accessibility, fully utilizing the unique spatial structure and color tone of the assembly station, making the whole station hall level into the interior of a lady carrying a bag. The precast concrete structure at the top is designed as a zipper shape that runs through the entire station concourse level space, using horizontal and vertical lines to enhance the depth of the space. The art design of the station concourse level echoes the theme, style and color palette of the platform level, with imaginative spatial reconfiguration and ready-made amplification, balancing the aesthetic value and practical function of public artwork.

2. Space Journey
In order to better present the spatial structure of the assembly station and the texture of the original building materials, the public art design of the Xihuancheng Road Station creates an imaginative space of a space capsule. The station's design uses a spatially integrated approach to highlight the sense of metal, technology and futurism, presenting the internal structure of a constantly moving Chinese spacecraft, through which passengers will feel they are walking through the vastness of the universe. It reflects Changchun's contemporary urban charm and visionary development vision as the "cradle of Chinese astronauts", with science and technology innovation industry as the focus of construction.

3. Time Movement
The design of this station combines the western classical style of the space decoration on the station hall level with the shape of western musical instruments to condense the visual symbols with musicality, combining the parts of musical instruments to reflect the structural beauty of the work and bring strong visual impact to the viewer. It echoes the regional characteristics of the many opera and art colleges around the construction square, and plays the symphony of the times of Changchun following the past.
