In the world of iconic monuments, two statues stand tall, symbolizing hope, freedom, and resilience—New York’s Statue of Liberty and The Victor statue in Manila, Philippines. The Statue of Liberty

Unveiled in 1886, the Statue of Liberty was a gift from France to the United States, representing the enduring friendship between the two nations. Standing at 46.02 meters [151ft] from the base to the tip of the torch, Lady Liberty is more than just a striking visual; she is a powerful symbol of liberty and democracy. The statue, designed by French sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, holds a torch that illuminates the path to freedom for millions of immigrants who arrived on American shores seeking a better life.

Robinsons Land announced in 2019 that it would be installing a colossal statue at Bridgetowne, its own township spanning Pasig and Quezon City. The statue which was named The Victor was projected to be the "tallest lighting projection" in the world. The Victor was unveiled in August 2023.

The Victor was designed by Filipino-American artist Jefrë. It is mainly made from marine-grade perforated steel art from Sino Sculpture Foundry in Beijing, China. It stands 55 meters (180 ft) on a 5 m (16 ft) podium. It weighs 299.37 tonnes (660,000 lb). It has a translucent surface that can be lit up with various colors at night through projection mapping.

Both the Statue of Liberty and the Victor statue in Bridgetowne stand as significant cultural landmarks that promote discussions about freedom, national identity, and the human experience. Despite their differences in age, design, and cultural context, these statues remind us of the universal desire for liberty and the importance of honoring our shared histories.

As we admire these monumental figures from different corners of the world, we are reminded that the pursuit of freedom and justice is a journey that transcends borders, uniting us in our shared humanity.
