About This Project
The curving facade sculpture of corten steel was designed by a Chinese artist and installed in Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden. The sculpture has a total length of 64 meters, and its surface is made of cordon steel. After rust treatment, the color is brownish-red. This material has very high strength and good corrosion resistance. Q355b carbon steel is used as the internal structure to support the surface panel, making the whole building more stable. The whole sculpture is winding on one side of the mountain. People can walk on the bridge and enjoy the beautiful scenery in the park. In 2011, corten steel arc facade won the Bali National Landscape Architecture Award and the American Association of Landscape Architects Award in 2012
